Horribly flat performance today. Lucas really is a waste of space. emoticon

I saw up until 70 mins and then had to go to work. I can't believe the amount of times that he gives the ball away. We really missed Alonso today and hopefully Torres will start against Everton next week.

I watched most of it although I did flick over to the Swansea game occasionally when I got frustrated, which was quite often emoticon .

Re: The Premiership thread

I'm surprised nobody has commented on the Rooney/Giggs corner yesterday. I thought it was genius.

Woodies better be on their toes this week...

Not quite genius really as they didn't have the brains to tell the officials that they would be doing it.

A mate of mine used to do something similar in rugby. He would tell the ref before the game that if he ever had the ball in the in goal area he would look like he was touching it down but he used to actually place it on his foot. He used to then leg it up the pitch while the oppo were waiting for a 22 drop out.

I'm pretty sure someone has done it before too. I saw it a few months ago - possibly during Euro 08?

Since when did you have to tell an Official you were going to take a corner?

It's been done quite a few times before, first time i've seen it though.

Dave, you don't but how would they have known that was what Rooney and Giggs would have done. The ref wouldn't have seen what Rooney did which is why he ordered them to take it again.

When me and Flynn do it on Saturday, I won't be telling your linesman because he might tip you off. So keep your eyes peeled.

Wasn't the issue whether or not the ball actually came to a stop or not?

Personally, I don't like it. Had some quick-thinking Chelsea player been nearby and rushed over, got the ball first and started attacking, I bet United would have claimed they hadn't taken it yet.

Re: The Premiership thread

Apparently BS XI have scored 2 or 3 goals from this over the last year so some other BCFA teams must have been the victims of this routine.
