Re: The Premiership thread

The point is that they have more options in their squad.

Interesting on Kaka

Even though this was in The Sun, still found it interesting!

Re: The Premiership thread

Torres showed signs of pure class. His run down the right side was incredible but he showed signs of rustiness (new word) with the miss in the first half.

Re: The Premiership thread

Good to see Torres wanting that goal in the first half. Think he could have gone down under the challenge and got a penalty but he stayed strong and his balance was impressive. Shame about the finish.

Dan, what are your thoughts on the penalty claim in the second half. Strangely Davo (striker) and I (defender) disagree. As Jagielka came in to tackle Torres he deliberately stuck out a leg to shield/block Jagielka which meant Jagielka came into contact with Torres' leg. So is that a penalty? Would have been harsh on Everton I reckon and I say no pen.

I thought it should have been a pen, but I'm willing to admit that that might be a bit biased as it would have been slightly harsh. There was definate contact, Jagielka didn't get the ball so outside of the box, it would definately have been a free kick so on that basis, should be a pen.

 :livid:

Why do we continue to play him, he's such a liability! Alonso has been arguably our best player this season but he drops him when we need to win every game now.

And then he takes Gerrard off just after the pen because he was 'tired'. There's 7 minutes to go for goodness sake!
