You're not surprised he's won though surely? Was never a red card offence. Anyway didn't Paul Robinson of West Brom win an appeal? Big boys...

Of course I'm not surprised, he plays for one of the big boys.

Didn't watch it. I had a bad eye and couldn't see very well. Pleased I missed it anyway as I knew it would be painful to watch; like every Chelsea game at the moment is!
How do you rate Chelseas chances in next seasons UEFA Cup then?

Re: The Premiership thread
I'd probably rate us as favourites if we were to be knocked out in the Champions League group stages tbh.

Re: The Premiership thread
Strange team Liverpool have out. Ngog up front . Resting Alonso, Riera and Torres. I hope Rafa knows what he is doing (for once)!

Re: The Premiership thread
Interestingly I was not convinced by the Setanta commentators comment that "the gamble paid off" and that Torres's goal vindicated the selection/substitution policy.
My view is that it blatantly didn't work and that's why he had to change it at the end. I mean - Torres was the 3rd sub so wasn't big in Rafa's plans tonight.
Anyway, who says Liverpool only have 1 striker. I thought Crouch's assist for the first goal was brilliant.

Setanta provide rubbish coverage (almost as bad as ITV) and have terrible presenters / commentators. I would much rather turn the sound down and listen to 5Live.
Great win though, about time we had the last word.

I think I'd agree. He got away with it, although it means it has turned into a good move as we won and were able to rest Torres and Alsonso. We get a long break now. Gerrard should only miss one more Premier League game, so we're still in it, but United are clear favourites still. I fancy Villa to finish top 4, definitely, and possibly even 2nd!!
However, I was mor shocked by some of the misses yesterday. Ryan Babel, John Terry, Henri Camara and Bobby Zamora have all given us real contenders for miss of the season. My vote goes to John Terry, but it's very close.
