Great results for us today, absolutely massive. We have to take advantage tomorrow, but knowing what we're like we'll probably draw!

Hilarious. Come on the POOL. Still think MUN will win tho. Be nice for some one other than the big three to win it in this decade.

Big boys get the rub of the green again...

It only leaves you thinking that if it were a Fulham player that had done what Rooney did, then he would have got a longer ban, but as it's United and they're in a title race, the FA dish out the minimum punishment.

'But referee Phil Dowd said he was not sworn at by the player and Rooney will face no extra sanction beyond the ban.

An FA spokesman said: "We have clarified with Phil Dowd that there was no abuse from the player after he was dismissed.'

Ok maybe he didn't swear (hard to believe) but to say he didn't abuse the ref is ridiculous, it's there for everyone to see.

And yes, if it had been a Liverpool player, I would have the same opinion, as you can't deny video evidence.

Re: The Premiership thread

I have seen Rooney and others behave worse to be honest. I thought Rooney tried to make his point (albeit somewhat aggressively) and then left the field. I see no reason to give him more punishment.

Having seen the highlights of the game yesterday I have a bit of sympathy with Rooney. Still think he was a bit silly but I actually think he was kind of trying to get the ball back to where the free kick was. But it was petulant.
