Thats a bit like one of Turps' runs in the 2nd half on Saturday. Maybe his mistake was shooting properly !!

What kind of chumps allowed Turps to run rings around them!! emoticon

..good luck against BSXI (is that tomorrow?), hope 'Stouty' sulks off the pitch again!

Re: The Premiership thread

Just seen this. Have to say it's a very disappointing list, and basically wrong (the main list I'm talking about here).

To start with, where the hell is Lampard? He's had a great season, and would probably get my vote. He's certainly been better than Ronaldo IMO, who's been well below the heights he hit last season. Not sure if he deserves to be on the list or not. Giggs has done the opposite. He had a poor season by his standards last year, but has been much better this season. Not sure he merits inclusion in the list though.

Vidic undoubtedly should be on there. I guess Rio and VDS are there because of United's phenomenal clean sheet run, but I thought Ferdinand missed a fair few of those games. Not convinced he should make the list, nor VDS.

I think Xabi Alonso has had a great season for Liverpool, probably better than Gerrard tbh. Anelka has also done well, so I'm slightly surprised to see him not on there.

Re: The Premiership thread

Based on the shortlist,

The winners have to be Steven Gerrard if Liverpool win the league or Nemanja Vidic if not and Stepehen Ireland.

Seems to be a list based on what you may of done in the past few months rather than the whole season, Anelka was the standout striker a few months ago.. Giggs is just a sympathy vote for a great professional, wouldn't like to see Gerrard get it simply for the fact that I don't really like him.. I'd go for Vidic... and Andrew, good shout with Ireland, a consistent performer in an inconsistent team

Re: The Premiership thread

Has anyone seen Gary Neville's dive against Sunderland? Just heard lots about it on the radio, talking about how it wasn't shown on Match of the Day because it was an English International involved...they reckoned it was a bit of MotD censorship emoticon

Can't see anything on YouTube...

Anybody found it on the internet anywhere?

The craziest premiership game I have ever seen. I didn't realise Arshavin had scored all 4 till I had left the ground. Awesome performance from Benayoun.

What about the defending!!?... Gallas is missed... Arshavin doesn't look a bad little player though

Re: The Premiership thread

At first I was like thats good for Man U but Arsenal still have to play them too, Man U seem to struggle playing catch up too, if they win their two games in hand to go 6 points clear then it's over but till that happens Liverpool are top of the table and will stay their if Man U don't raise it. May well be a decent point for Liverpool more than 2 dropped come the final day!
