So Giggs wins PFA player of the year. He's been good, but only 1 league goal and he's only started 12 league games, not sure that warrants a top award like this.

Sentiment isn't it, for his career really. He probably deserves to have won it at some stage in his career so not overly fussed about him winning it this year although the award is strictly for the season.
Not sure anyone has really stood out this year like others ave done in the past few seasons like Ronaldo and Lampard.

think Torres if he'd stayed fit would have perhaps been a stand out for it as he seems to have been consistent when fit!

I agree, stupid decision, clearly a sympathy vote. Should have been Lamps IMO, and he wasn't even on the shortlist!!!

I thought it was a joke when I saw Giggs had won. There wasn't one stand out player this season so I don't really know who I would have gone for.

Lampard deserved it more.
Think the whole sentimental vote thing is a bit naff as well. People would remember Giggs more for somehow never winning it than they will for winning it in 2009. Kind of like Jimmy White - greatest player never to win the world title, or George Best - greatest player never to play at a major tournament.
Can't begrudge him the win, but I reckon he'll be secretly pretty embarassed.

No posts on here for a while... have Liverpool fans given up hope?... fear not, call me a deluded Arsenal fan but I think we'll beat Man Yoo tomorrow!... no Rio tomorrow and we have Arshavin back!... only have to worry about Rooney/Ronaldo/Tevez etc... ermmm thinking I am deluded now...
