Re: The Film thread

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but I was watching When the Earth stood still earlier and spotted T-bag from Prison Break.
Rubbish film though.

Have watched

Twilight - very good film maybe one to watch with the misses but was impressed.

Fast & furious - OK similar to the first but entertaining non the less.

Body of Lies - Pants

I watched Twilight last night. It wasn't a bad film but I was slightly disappointed in it. Certainly not a patch on The Lost Boys.

Watched The Happening last night - what the hell was that all about?! Nowhere near as good as Signs, Sixth Sense or The Village. And no twist which I was disappointed with. And there was no real ending, didn't like it. If you haven't seen it, don't bother.

Very strange I think the twist is that it isn't terrorists but you found out a bit earlier than usual possibly them not dying was the other twist emoticon. I think they should have done more with the old lady, made it so she was involved somehow like a tree lady or something, cause I was waiting for a more bit of a twist and it didn't really come. It was a bit of a shocking film in with the deaths and stuff but that was the only real decent part of the film after first 30mins it became a bit daft.

I like the two main actor/actress but they were really strangely set up and acted really oddly out of character.

Re: The Film thread

Crofty, you've 'done a emoticon' and given away big plot points, ya flamin galagh!

I'm going to see fast and furious on thursday. Expect it to be entertaining, but not a particularly great story line or anything.

The new X-men: Wolverine film has been slated a bit. Anyone got plans to see it? I believe it's out this thurs.

Was thinking of going to see that, but may not now. I'm also thinking of watching State of Play, and some friends told me that it's really good.

I think X-men is out today. I am sorry Kirbs was trying to write it without giving too much away, but figured Dan was only a post away from doing it himself emoticon

Re: The Film thread

A couple of films I've seen recently..

Let the Right one in - Good Swedish film about a girl who's a vampire.. though more about bullying

Martyrs - French psychological horror.. disturbing film probably not for most of the delicate emoticon people frequenting this board.. interesting and well done but hard to watch... not a first date movie!

Rise of the Footsoldier - true story about a British football hooligan who 'evolves' into a gangland killer..... rubbish film with annoying ****ney's and far too many unnecessary expletives

London to Brighton - Great film, gritty British drama, similar to Nil by Mouth

Dead Mans Shoes - Another very good British movie, good characters and story..

I haven't see any new cinema films as in Germany they dub them all!!

Anyone got any recommendations?... any excuse not to watch German TV!!

I would suggest the following, but only when your neighbours are around:

Damnbusters
Escape to Victory
The Great Escape

How to make friends and influence people.
 emoticon
