And we scored without Torres or Gerrard and we won without Gerrard.
2 man team? Pah.
Real Madrid are not the Real Madrid of old. You're still a two man team. The premiership has proved that. Good result tonight but nothing has changed on the 2 man front.
Re: The Champions League thread On a different point (and a day late) I noticed that the United team on Tuesday contained players from every country in the UK & Ireland. Surely a first in Champs league history.
That's the kind of thing that keeps me going during a busy week.
Re: The Champions League thread Really Ben? Would Liverpool not have done that back in the 80's with the likes of Whelan, Dalgleish, Rush et al in the side. Maybe no Northern Irish player???
Or is this like the "premiership" v "division 1" and you only count history since it became the Champions League (which annoys me by the way).

9 wins on the trot? Give us a bit more credit than that!
Re: The Champions League thread That Liverpool performance was reminiscient of George Grahams Arsenal!.. Real Madrid were clueless in the second half but at least they tried to play football

They've been in pretty good form, so much so that their President predicted a 3-0 win and then a 2-1 win for them at Anfield.
Although of course, the second prediction could come true.

ALong these lines, the Liverpool line up last night contained more Spanish players than the Real Madrid one. And we think there are too many foreigners in the Premiership....
