What a race, proves the sport is anything but boring.
I actually watched the whole race as I was up anyway. There was plenty of action lower down the field, but the winner was never really in doubt. Button streaked away on the first lap, and although he never got his lead up to a significant gap, the second placed car never got close enough to give him any serious worry.
Despite the commentary team's best efforts to crank up the tension, even if Kubica had successfully got past Vettel, he's never have caught up 2 seconds and overtaken Button in 3 laps, unless Button made a bad mistake.
Good effort from Hamilton though.

Re: F1 thread
I’m embarrassed for Kirby; thought cars/racing was his thing? I know it’s only the first week but still…

Re: F1 thread
Well what a result for Brawn on Sunday. Ross Brawn is a master tactician in races and he has won Ferrari many a race just through his pit stop strategies and on Sunday he did the same, he brought Button in just in time to go back out in front of the pack another lap and it would have ended Buttons race. Brawn (or ex Honda) have been developing this car since Nov 2007, when McLaren and Ferrari were battling it out for the title in 2007 and 2008, Honda were concentrating on 2009 and it shows massively now. Brawn is not an idiot he knew he was inheriting a great set up last year when he joined even though the current car was pants. Even though 3 months ago Button was out of a job everything was in place for them to have a great season should they get a buyer. It’s not really shocking that they are doing well only that the rest are far behind. Brawn doesn’t use KERS which gains you time yet they were still far ahead and Rubens was still overtaken cars with it. Button messed up his pit stop and had two safety cars had they not came out would he have won by more. Button was driving with a dodgy tyre for the second stint but nobody troubled him. I think Button and Brawn had a lot in reserve yet they won the race comfortably, Rubens was a bit lucky to make it a fairytale 1-2. Also the new rules have brought the cars much closer together at one point 6 laps from the end the top 3 were all on the same straight unheard of in recent years. It will be a great season, I really hope Brawn keep the momentum going and win the championship, Button has proved that if he had had one of the top cars in the last 8 seasons he would have challenged at the top. This season is the first time he has a car which has championship potential. I am a huge Button fan and although I also root for Hamilton (great third place) I do hope Button brings it this season would be great to see two brits battle it out for next few years at the top!

3rd place in division 2 - not too shabby a season in the end!!

It's a marathon, not a sprint Shearsy. Dan was beating Kirby in the fantasy football for a two or three weeks before natural order was restored.
I appreciate that, I just assumed Kirby knew what he was talking about and therefore would be right in the mix from the start and I'd be as my team name suggests!

Re: F1 thread
Reason I did badly was from not having Hamilton, and getting minus points for constructors. Stupid crashes! Harsh one for me. Oh well, we'll see how we get on over the next 16 races.
