I've been playing the Cricinfo game too since the "extra subs" debacle to see what it's like. There's a few differences which I'll try and list below.
One of the main plus points I think is that you can choose the make up of your line up. You can have:
1. 4 bats, 2AR, 1 WK, 4 bowlers
2. 4 bats, 3AR, 1WK, 3 bowlers
3. 5 bats, 3AR, 1WK, 2 bowlers
However, the main downside to their game (I think) is that you choose a trump player (score doubled), but you can change it without it costing you subs, so if you couldn't get to a computer for a couple of days, you'd lose out.
Scoring differences are summarised below:
More minus points for poor scoring and economy rates (e.g. I think it's -30 for SR0-49.99, -20 for SR50-79.99, -10 for SR80-99.99, 0 for SR100-149.99, +10 for SR150-179.99, +20 for SR180-199.99, +30 for SR200+).
You score a point per run, plus bonuses for every 25 (I think it's +10 for 25 runs, +20 for 50 runs, +40 for 75 runs, +80 for 100 runs).
More points for dismissing a batsmen, wk and all rounder than for dismissing a bowler.
More bonus points for numbers of wickets (something like +10 for 2 wickets, +20 for 3 wickets, +40 for 4 wickets, +80 for 5 wickets).
50 bonus points for the official player of the match.

You get 60 modifications which is a lot IMO considering there are about half the amount of games in relation to the IPL. To change your captain costs 6.
