Memphis FTW!

Literally! First "real" comp., I took 3rd in street A with a 136.5, 1 12" in a pure daily driving box, and 200-300 watts.Whoopdie doo, right?

Well, for the next and last one for the season I made some changes.I got the PR's out of the storage unit and a nice member from ca.com worked with me and shipped me a hifonics brutus BX1500D ASAP with some 2 gauge wiring.I got an ANL fuse holder and fuse from my local dealer, which KICKS ASS!(he's going to try and get me some kind of deal through memphis like a partial sponshorship/competitors discount). He had it for me the next day (he was out of stock, ordered more in though).Anyway, I didn't have time to build a whole new box from scratch.I only had one day, well, not even that.I had half a day to build a loud SPL box.So I gave my crap designed CRX box (not done by me, undercover work ftl) a facelift.I knocked out the port, which was orignally flared. It got upgraded to about 145 sq. in. of port area.I decided on a 43hz tuning for this.I covered the old cut-outs for the subs on top, and cut new ones on the front.

What was the end result of this last minute job?Well, I drove out into the country a little bit and found a dirt road that I knew there were no houses for a couple miles.I was shocked when I first burped it, for about half a second. The damn CD player kept skipping even before I reached my "burping volume".I put pressure on the HU and tried again, scared the **** out of my one passenger.I was in sheer amazement of how it turned out. Then and there I decided to take that set-up down there.

Results? 1st place in street C, 2nd loudest at the show, and a lot of people that were curious about my set-up. 144.1db @ 36hz (accident), 145.1db @ 44hz, 145.7db @48hz I think. It was an accident in qualiftying.I accidently hit the shuffle button. In the final round though, 146.5db @46hz on the new TL emoticon

I'll upload pics eventually. . . . lmao

A few things to add.The PR's are currently wired to 1 ohm, and they LOVE the power.I didn't even get them warm after quite a few long burps.Even with some music.Very pleasing.

My plans for next year.I'm going to buy a second hifonics BX1500D since I already own one, and I'm going to run 4 12" memphis PR's.I want to use a kinetik 2400.I'm going to look into "training" your batts. to rest at a higher voltage so I'm not running at 12.8v, but if not, that's ok.
