Who's downloading files?
For a couple of recent months, usage of the clan4u2 website has exceeded the limit I paid for. Luckily, our webspace provider is not hard up on nickel & diming me so they haven't charged me any additional charges "yet".
My biggest question is... since Quake2 activity has obviously quieted down a bit, who is downloading files and what are they downloading? It's not a big deal... just that I am now considering deleting some of the larger files, ie., huge "non 4u2-maps", the texture paks, maybe demos to name a few. It really seems odd cause when we were at our "busiest" time a couple of yrs ago, we NEVER exceeded the disk quota... very odd.
If an active participant or ally to us has needs for any of our public domain files, just let me know. If not, I will begin deleting.
Thanks.

Re: Who's downloading files?
upload all files you have to tastyspleen.net and make sure you dont delete your copies. i consider q2 as a game that needs to preserved, and the thought of losing anything makes me squirm. Tastyspleen allows for 100mb of storage if i recall correctly. You could contact quadz there for storage.

Re: Who's downloading files?
Sq, don't worry about your image files. The other type of files I mentioned are the true hogs.
Gator, I'll always keep "all" of my Q2 files so no, I am not deleting em forever. As far as maps go, I think most of the other map hosters have more of the Maric Maps and the "disco" map with the swimming pool is hardly a rare map these days. I'll just delete from my webspace but will still have 'em locally.
Sq's maps, webpage content, skns... all that stuff will remain as long as we have the site.
