Your mouse and my dsl.....aye. Well looks like I'll be offline this weekend. Dsl is down..bleh. I' did read that q2ace has a fix for the mouse and xp. Might give it a try and see if it helps. Does the mouse freak out when moving it slow or fast?
Don't know what to say I haven't had any troubles with it since I got rid of zone alarm. Thanks Geik for that insight. But I am also using the mx 300 so that might make a difference.

I think I'll try Nocheat also. I wonder if I should reinstall the original mouse registry? Seems logical since the nocheat fix is based on the default XP registry. ???
Recently I read about a script for nocheat that enables auto demo record. If anyone wants it I'll post.

hey cannonball.
i spoke with you on saturday night about fixing mouse accel in xp and said i'd give you the client i use..
i hadn't done anything to it in ages so have been polishing a few more things up in it and will have it ready for use soon (readme, changelog, example configs, added extra settings, other small things, pak file, etc).
in windows xp, mouse accel is part of the mouse initialisation call (made by q2). as this wasnt part of the windows api back when q2 came out it doesnt set the mouse accel parameter. most new clients (like my one) have added a cvar to turn off or on that parameter.
ill try to get it ready in the next few days depending on how busy i am at work.

Here's an example of the script for auto demo record. I'll have to play around w/ it to get the 1st event to work since not every server has the MOTD "welcome to fuster's dm". 
event "Welcome to Fuster's DM" "record" "$date $time $mapname"
event "Timelimit hit" "stop" ""
event "Accuaracy Info" "stop" ""

Well for those of you that don't want to use no cheat or the other various programs. Here's a way that was on microshafts site. mouse acceleration killer
I've checked out what enhanced pointer option does and it changes these three keys. I have all three set to 0 and it seems pretty good.
