Re: What RAM to get?
Hmmm, well at least I have a reference point to start from Sq... looks like an impressive combination for my small budget. I'll prolly wait it out a bit more cause I'd also have to buy an SATA drive.... I assume my IDE hard drives are useless.

Re: What RAM to get?
Negative. You can still use them. IDE will be around a while, since most optical drives don't seem to use SATA yet.

Ok, so I'm uneducated when it comes to SATA/IDE interfaces... I didn't see anywhere in the specs that said IDE for the hard drive controllers, only SATA. Are they the same Ribbon Cables/Connectors?

Re: What RAM to get?
No, but just from looking at the board, it has 2 ATA/IDE connectors and a floppy. If you look at the specs, it says 2 PATA ports. PATA = IDE

Re: What RAM to get?
Not having been in the market for MOBO for a couple of years... I'm not used to seeing the new terminology.... PATA did not compute in my brain.

Sq, how is ur RAM (above) different from this one:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145449#DetailSpecs
this is the sortof thing that drives me batty. The "detailed" specs on Newegg's website doesnt show any difference.

Re: What RAM to get?
If this is the same RAM... looks like the only difference is Black vs. Platiunum heat spreaders:
TWINX1024-3200C2 XMS3200 1024MB 2-3-3-6-1T 2x184 DIMM Black Heat Spreaders
TWINX1024-3200C2PT XMS3200 1024MB 2-3-3-6-1T 2x184 DIMM Platinum Heat Spreaders
I'm assuming it doesn't make any difference.
Corsair's website where I pulled this from:
