Match for an Aspen XGibson XRudolph

Brigeen Aspen Al-ET

Sire: EK-Oseeana Aspen-ET
Dam: Cityview Gibson Alcena-ET EX91 EX-MS
2nd Dam: Cityview R Alicia-ET EX92 EX-MS
3rd Dam: Shoremar S Alicia-ET EX97 EX-MS (99)
4th Dam: Aitkenbrae Starbuck Ada EX94 EX-MS

Legs are the only improvement, but they aren't bad. She is a decent heifer overall. Plenty of strength, so shottle will add too much. Something a bit more dairy, finer boned.

This would be for a flush in Nov-December, then will be bred to calve fall of 09.

Edit: Here is a picture of that Aspen..

Wait for the August proofs and pray that something good comes up! I could say Goldwyn and all the usual suspects but he really is being used a lot, not very exclusive. something fresh put on this line would be interesting. Maybe a Stormatic son, if a decent one turns up!

Re: …

Lee and Stormatic have the same bloodline. So any stormatic son, would add more Sheik into the equation, gets close.

I had thought briefly about stormatic himself, but then I remembered the sheik.. Goldwyn I plan to use on another animal. Jasper I cant use, as he is a lee, like Aspen is.

You might want to take a look at Lylehaven Lightning after August proofs.

World Wide Sires, internationally, so he is either Select or Accelerated in the US. I would guess Select.

I think Bolton, Lou, or Mac could work nicely on your heifer. Not sure how marketable they would be and I don't know if they have the show type you are looking for, but we have alot of heifers by all three that I am really pleased with.

Re: …

I like this pedigree, I have got Durham pregnancies due off the same Dam. I thought that would be a good cross, only worry was the milk yield but worth the risk.

lightning might not have the greatest of numbers because he got used on some better than average cows. Show guys chasing for the next big thing.

He may suffer from foundation sires syndrome. High GP and better but low proof numbers.( Mayjay this is for you).

Select is all hot for him but we are milking two of them and they don't compare to the goldwyns or shottles.
He was 12 for type on his preliminary proof.

Jeff have you thought about Redesign or Denison?

Damion or maybe Laramee Mor he should have added more daughters by the time you want to flush, or pray that something good comes along in the next run,

I like what I saw from the Lou I have seen since the fall , good feet and legs , refine and they usually stand out in a pen. Also at 3.35 for rear udder width you tend to protect Aspen in that aspect. For index maybe you are late with him , depends what you are looking for. This is a good family , I am agree that maybe something new in august will fit better what you want to achieve.

Re: Match for an Aspen XGibson XRudolph

I do like the Lou suggestion. You dont see many at sales (perhaps people are holding on to them), and when they do sell, they seem to do well.

Mac has Rudolph in his bloodline, as does this heifer..

Lightning ill look at when the proofs come out.

But back to Lou, he does offer up the fancy quality for show type, and for type in general. would be an interesting match for that heifer.

I would consider Bolivia from Semex. A couple other bulls would be Jeeves and Tornado. Another choice could be Lin at ABS ST. Jacobs.
