Why not Minot - Feb 4th & 5th
Well, just got back from the frozen tundra of Minot. I was so used to the spring like weather we have been having it was a shock to the system to feel cold again! Got to see a lot of old friends again this weekend from my past playing days in Minot...how come none of you guys showed up for the jam! Oh well..nothin much has changed....you guys never came to jam when I lived up there either! HHAHAHA!
Our weekend went OK. Josh did a good job filling in and we didn't have too many train wrecks. The crowd varied both nights and we at least had a couple sets of good dance floor action each night to keep us going. Thanks to Keith, Tom, Dana and Loren for getting up and jammin. I'd forgotten how long the night can get when you start at 7 for the jam...and no bass players show.
The ole Starlite just ain't what it used to be in the heydays of 6 nights a week gigs. The country/variety scene in Minot is down to a dribble. The owner of the Starlite told me he is stopping bands after next weekend and is trying to sell the place. If it doesn't sell he said it will probably become a liquer store. Sad to see another place go the wayside. Thanks for the memories.
