Lawhead began the series with a line that siad "It all began with an aurochs." You see the whole book series, it has this terrible depressing ending where the main character loses everything and has to leave his new life behind, then shows him sitting down and penning the first words of the first book. It was frustration because the main had to leave his pregnant wife, all his friends and trusted confidants, had to kill his best friend, and lost being Lord of Albion...to return here...a nobody.
That book has to be my most favorite book ( besides the Bible) on Earth. I have read the series like 5 times in three years. It has to be one of the best books ever meade.
