A Hobbit's Tale
This is a fan-fic I just started. Let me know how you like it, and/or what could be better.
A Hobbit's Tale
By: Lessien Arnatuilë
Billy Gamgee sat down on the bench and let his great-grandma Rosie take his arm and roll up his sleeve. He heard her gasp,
"Oh, Billy. How'd you do this?"
Billy struggled with an answer. None of his friends had believed him when he'd told the truth, so he doubted Great-Grandma Rosie would either. But, unable to think of a better excuse, told the truth anyway.
"It was an Elf, Great-Gran, it was."
She tut-tutted to herself, then clicked her tongue.
"Billy, no self-respecting Elf would do this to a mere decade old Hobbit-child!"
"She didn't do it!"
"Then who did?"
"A warg."
"In the Shire?"
She snorted as she continued cleaning his arm. Then, Billy's great-grandpa, Samwise, entered the room. He hung up his hat and then turned around. His wrinkled ace registered shock as his eyes took in Billy's bloodstained shirt and ravaged arm. He rushed to him,
"Billy! Lad, what happened? Aren't you in pain?"
"No, great-Gramps, I'm not. I haven't felt a lick of pain sense the Elf touched me."
"Elf?"
"Yes. After the warg attacked me, an Elf lady with golden hair appeared and made the warg go away. She touched my arm, and the pain was gone. Then she vanished."
"That's amazing."
Billy jerked,
"You believe me?"
"Yes, lad why wouldn't I?"
"Sam,"
Rosie interrupted,
"You can't believe him!"
"Look at the size of those claw marks, those aren't exactly cat-scratches. And I'll never forget the time I saw a man mangled by one of those creatures."
He knelt beside Billy,
"Billy, listen, I know about elves,"
"Yeah, you told me you went on a trip with great-great-Uncle Frodo."
"Yes, and that Elf-maiden saved you for a reason."
"What does that mean?"
"It means, I need to take you to the elves."
"But, they all went west."
"You saw one, didn't you?"
"Yes."
"Well, tomorrow, we're going to find them."

Re: A Hobbit's Tale
Here's some more. Glad ya'll like it. What's RotK?
* * *
The next morning, bright and early, Sam shook Billy awake.
"Come on Billy, time to go."
Billy sat up groggily,
"But I'm not ready yet!"
"I made a pack for you, and here's your clothes. I'll be waiting outside."
Billy groaned and took the clothes. Sam left and Billy put on the shirt and knickers, struggling to get the pants on over his feet. He saw one item left on the bed. A hooded cloak with a brooch to hold it together beneath his chin. He put it on and went outside. Sam threw him a pack and said,
"Let's go."
He looked him over and said,
"You're the picture of Frodo, you are. If a bit taller."
He stepped out onto the road and Billy heard him mumble,
"...and if you don't keep your feet, there's no telling where you might get swept off to."
"What Sam?"
"Oh, Sam is it? Well Billy, that's something Bilbo used to say. I just remember it because this is the very spot where Frodo first said it to me."
He tousled Billy's hair and said,
"Now for an adventure! I haven't been on a quest in ages, don't you know. This will be good for me."
Billy thought, But how good will it be for me? I never went on a quest, never saw an Elf or warg 'til yesterday, what does the rest of this year hold for me I wonder? He sighed, pulled his pack up over his shoulders, and followed Sam down the tiny road through Hobbiton.
