Godzillian Anatomy
The Ten Bodily Systems of Godzilla
Epidermal System: External Defense
Godzilla’s skin, like all other reptiles, is a thin layer of dermis covered by protective scales. The skin found beneath his scales, though thin, is very tough and leathery, impenetrable by most forms of modern weaponry. However, this layer of dermis has never been fully tested to how much it can actually withstand because of Godzilla’s epidermis, a layer of massive scales. These scales are unlike those of any other reptile on earth in that they as actually complex scales. The creases seen all over Godzilla’s body are actually not folds of skin, as some would see them, but rather they are the complex scales. Due to their build as complex scales, they are incredibly tough and anchored not only to the dermis, but also to other scales. These line-shaped scales cover ever inch of Godzilla’s body with the exception of the fins on his back. Therefore, his skin, in order to take even slight damage, must take and incredible amount of abuse. Generally, when damage is done, it is due either to heavy barrage, removing the smaller scales from one another until finally the complex scale has exposed the dermis, or is a cutting or stabbing weapon is used, which slips right between and underneath the scales. On the top of his head, as well as down his back and on the dorsal side of his tail, these scales form spikes. These spikes are small, but lead into the spines protruding from his back, growing in size prior to the break in the skin when the bones emerge. Although the larger scales are tough, and even harder than diamonds in some places, the smaller scales which compose the larger are thin and shaped like fish-scales. And though they too, like the larger scales, are tough, they are also incredibly flexible, which is why, when the forces of the scales combined with the thin layer of Godzilla’s body fat, many projectiles actually bounce off of his body. Those projectiles not bouncing off his body are either deflected or stick between his complex scales, which are removed either by falling out on their own, or being shed with the coming of the next layer of skin. It is estimated that Godzilla sheds his skin approximately twice in three years.

Re: Godzillian Anatomy
Reptiles in general have incredibly powerful immune systems, especially those of the larger variety, such as Komodo Dragons, who culture septic bacteria in their saliva, which is capable of killing an antelope after one bite within eight minutes, and crocodiles, which live in water with concentrated percentages of bacterial ratios. A crocodile’s immune system is also proven to fight/kill not only bacteria, but also viruses. In a recent study, it was proven that a crocodile’s immune system can kill the HIV virus. Godzilla’s immune system is similar, but far more advanced. As the ancestor to all reptiles to begin with, all traits that reptiles currently have were inherited from dinosaurs. Godzilla, having originally been a dinosaur, therefore has all of these traits which were passed down to the reptiles of today, including the impenetrable immune system. Because of his overall increased cell size, his antibodies are also larger than those of any other living thing, including his white blood cells. Due to their size, they can absorb multiple times the amount of bacterial intruders than that of a crocodile’s or Komodo dragon’s white blood cells. The radiation Godzilla produces also plays a large role in his immunity to disease. Since Godzilla is constantly consuming and producing all three forms of radiation, alpha, beta, and gamma, as well as a yet unknown fourth form, labeled omega radiation, bacteria is unable to survive even within 500 yards of him, let alone within him. It is true that bacteria and viruses can often become immune to certain antibiotics and chemicals, two thing they cannot adjust to are heat and radiation. Radiation often produces a large amount of heat. In fact, Godzilla’s internal temperature due to his radioactive nature is recorded at a minimum of 256º Fahrenheit. Due to these extreme internal conditions, most bacteria don’t survive long enough to meet his powerful immune system. However, like him, there are some bacteria that were mutated and can withstand these extremes. These are few and far between, but are dealt with in a quick fashion by Godzilla’s large antibodies.
