Chapter Four
Glancing around, Lisa didn't see anyone as she stood at the top of the stairway. Polished marble railing and stairs, soon to be draped with a red carpet, spread before her.
Lisa sighed. "What's the point of being almost grown0up if you can't have fun?" she mumbled to herself. Looking around once more, not seeing another person, she slid one leg over the bannister and rode to the bottom.
Landing in the foyer, she tiptoed to the kitchen. Grabbing a freashly baked loaf, she put that and some chees and a thermos of orange juice into a knapsackk.
As soon as she was by the stables she began to relax. It's so hard being quiet at 6 am in the spring when you have roses and lilies blooming just outside your windows.
"Princess Lisa!" a loud whisper carried across the stable yard. Lisa turned. Esther was coming, leading Lisa's personal horse and her own.
Lisa hadn't forgotten to tuck several sugar cubes in her pocket for her special love. "Here. I'll take Peace now. Feed these to Grace. Tell her I got them especially for her." Lisa handed a few cubes to Esther.
Esther's horse was "Twilight's Grace", twin to Lisa's "Twilight's Peace". Both Arabians, pedigreed, and personally trained by Esther and Lisa. King Frank (Lisa's father) owned "Twilight's Descent" the older brother of the aforementioned.
Esther and Lisa came to the block. Lisa tied her knapsack onto her saddle. "Are we ready to ride, your Highness?" Esther unnecessarily asked.
Lisa grinned at Esther as both of them were seated properly. "Well, let's see. Peace and Grace are ready to ride, we're in proper riding gear, I'd say let's go."
Tapping their horses into a trot, they moved off to the forest to meet the King for their ride.

Chapter Five
Standing at the top of the stairs once more, Lisa's father (still slightly out of breath) looked proudly up at her, his only child, the image of her parents.
Lisa smiled down at him as she descended the stairs, her long light blue gown trailing behind her. Quite the picture she was, her hair waterfalling down her back, her eyes sparkling like diamonds, her small gold circlet reflecting the sun.
As she came to the landing where Esther waited, she looked towards the crowd. Lord David was close enough to have her hear him whisper, "beautiful as a swan."
Esther stepped up to her, slightlly whispering, "Stay away from Donovan, I'll say why later."
Lisa nodded, Esther drawing back and acting like nothing had occurred. Lisa went down the few stairs left with Esther behind her.
As they slowly approached the canopied podium, erected especially for this event, where Lisa's father waited, Lord David took Lisa's arm and stepped beside her, walking in rhythm.
Esther fell back a little more, slightly surprised. Kevin took command of the situation and escorted her up to where the others were.
As the two escorts fell back into the crowd, King Frank stepped up to address the court.
"My people..." he buegun. He got no farther. He began to turn pale and quiver slightly.
"Father!" Lisa leapt toward his side.
