Yes, have faith that good things are coming your way. Pray as if you have received and have faith it is so. Do not worry, worry will get you nowhere and worry is of the future and you are not there. You are here now and all you can do is to be with any situation.
So be still, have faith and give thanks in prayer for each miracle which is revealed to you. Use that enthusiasm to drive you to the next action you take now... You create your destiny.
Remember every cloud has a silver lining. Accept and do not resist any change this situation brings you and your family.

Once you were considering starting a day care. Perhaps now would be a good time? Summer is here and working parents need people to look after their kids. Is it possible this could work for you?
Pet sitting, dog walking?
And here's a different idea: in Canada we have no-charge centers set up to help people find work, and perhaps you area has something like that too. If they are like ours, everything is free: registering, going to resume and interview workshops, even the use of their computers for job hunting, their printer paper for resumes, and of course their job board.
Perhaps you and Rushman could start some kind of cleaning business together? (Or does he already have a job -- I'm sorry, I've forgotten.) Or some other type of business.
Keep an open mind hon and do your best. I'm sure you will find something. Do you have a good bike? You may be surprised to find work available within a short bike ride from home, if you post a notice somewhere local that you are looking for work.
You will both be in my thoughts and I will be hoping for a change in your fortunes.

I used to have a good book about running home businesses but I made the mistake of loaning it to someone and never got it back.
