Re: ****Rog's zillion mile Tourer**** Don't know what Avant is?
But god know why 'they' call estates 'station wagons'. You go 'touring' in a touring, because you have more space for your 'stuff'.
Explain station wagon?

The only version you've all missed is Shooting Brake, work that one out!
Re: ****Rog's zillion mile Tourer**** Isnt Shooting Brake the ultra posh name given to estates? Im guessing its called that cause the Lord of the Manor needs to put his gun dog/heat into the back of it and still have room to take his mates for a jolly good afternoon out
Re: ****Rog's zillion mile Tourer**** STATION WAGON (US) Long carriage drawn by horses to take people from the main coach (horse or train) station to the various towns and homesteads.
ESTATE (English) Originated with the Land Rover long wheel base. A vehicle for use on the Country Estate.
SHOOTING BREAK (English) The Sultan of Brunei asked Aston Martin to make him an estate version of one of the models in the 80's. As Aston sell to a bunch of toff's, the only time they need a motor like that is when fireing the matched Purdies at a bunch of Pesants (or should that be Phesants).
TOURING (German) Simply translates as "route". All European countries have cars for Touring the wonders of main land Europe.
AVANT (F**K knows)!
Well you lot... What the hell is a Saloon? Swinging doors a gunfight and a bottle of fire water?
