lower outer ball joints


yes yes, i know this has been covered 100's f times before but with no decent search function im stuck, whats the easiest way to remove and fit them, i have a ball joint splitter but they dont look lik they fit in like reguler ball joints, any one have the right procudure with non specilest tools?

They need to be pressed out/in with a hydraulic press.

ah man that means having the lower arm out.

i found the pelican website that says a puller is used. surely theres a easier way?

Are you seperating the joint from the arm or the suspension leg?

I just replaced the complete arm's and added E30 M3 rear bushes, on this link the better quality Febi blistien arms are £42 + delivery

the outer lower ball joint and maybe the inner, its not knocking just noticed its got play, like makes a squishing noice when held at 9 and 3 postion and pulled and pushed ethier side

That's what mine did, I replaced the worn arm and both rear bushes then 2 weeks later the other side balljoint started to fail... If they ever go again they will be getting done together.

and im betting the little free play i have will fail a mot!!! not that it matters coz ill replace it, im trying to get fixed what i know to be wrong as ive looked over the car properly done all the mot checks etc, still gotta get round my left rear locking on hand brake but right hand side dosnt!
