Not meaning to sound stupid here but what's the point? What do these do that a standard bulb won't do? Stock bulbs light up 360 degrees around them and besides, they're encased in a reflector which spreads the light anyway.

Even if they're a bit brighter, I think the stock lights are plenty bright enough, I'd get p!ssed off if someone infront had blindingly bright brake lights.

I might be missing something here but I really don't see the point.

Adam,

It's not the brightness (not in my case anyway). It's the speed that they switch on/off that appeals. If you notice on newer cars, the LED lights are instantly on, and you tend to notice them sooner, and react accordingly.

I'm for anything that keeps some numpty off my bumper emoticon

Dude its how they blink, and how quickly they turn on and off.

Ian i dont know that. I will need to ask the guy.

I still don't get the point of them over stock lights though. They might turn on and off a fraction of a second quicker but what's that in real life, nothing.

Also isn't the blinking for indicators determined by the relay not the bulb. The stock ones flash on and off don't they? Isn't that all you need?

Dude like Ian said, it could be the difference between someone hitting you. There was an article in a Mercedes Magazine that my dad gets cause of his car and it shows the difference between the two and it was like several metres before the stock bulb was lit.
You dont need to buy them. For $18 i think they are worth it.

I'm only interested in Brake lights. Couldn't give a monkeys about the indicators. It's a BMW, they never get used anyway emoticon

I know I notice LED brake lights a lot more than regular bulbs. It all helps.

Well these bulbs are the only ones ive seen that even come close to anything i would be willing to put into my car. The others sold in Halfords and like are very poor and very expencive.

Hmm, what sort of price are you expecting to get them if I wanted a full set as in

Brake lights
Rear indicators
Front Indicators

I think they'd look good in the front with clear lenses because the LED's are clear and would get rid of that egg yolk look.

Re: Whos in?

Well this is it dude, it will be £60 for six bulbs plus postage, but the more we order the less postage we pay he said.

You will need to mod the Relay to stop it from blinking too fast, i have all the details.

I would not order those right now, i dont know how these will perform in the E30 housing, ive seen them in other cars.
