Alternator Belt


Quick Question..do u guys think that if i tighten the belt on my bro's alternator it would help in the voltage area???

doesn't his car have an automatic tensioner chauncey?

also i don't see how a tight belt would give him better voltage. the rotation would be the same.

no that could cause the alt to fail if it is to tight. unless the belt is currently slipping it wont help

It should not be loose with slack, and should not be as tight as you can get it either.

I've also heard that tightening it more can cause alt whine.
