you dont need a double baffel for low power subs like that. youll be fine with a single 3/4MDF. just take your time and cut out a perfect circle for the sub to mount on and it will be air tight.

well I have to flush mount the subs so I figured I'd just double baffle it. With my EHQS12 the baffle is roughly the same size and it flexes a little. It's braced too. The baffle will be 40"x22". I have the room and the MDF so I have no reason not to double baffle other than weight.

Well, if your going to flush mount the sub, then use the double baffle method you outlined because I use the same method for flush mounting subs plus it add's strength to the enclosure as well.
