the new look...
is ****ing sweet ((8)
may i suggest making the top low down banner like maybe half its size, it just seems to take up too much of the page whenever you load something

I made half it's height and expanded it just a hair to match the width of main forum module. The width of the module is default whenever you add a custom banner and modify the welcome screen. I was going to tweak it some today but it is great when people make suggestions because it is real easy to get tunnel vision and not be able to step back and look at something objectively after working on it for awhile.
Keep in mind two things here. First this is not hard to do, I actually had a blast last night working on this thing, because my g/f finally left and I could do it in peace and quiet. I realized that I am not as far away from doing HTML as I thought, it is really not that hard once you figure out what is actually going on.
Second. These are not final designs, unless you guys want them to be. I just wanted to show everyone what is possible and work on some designs that fit the page well and don't clash together. What I am saying is that we can put up literally anything you guys want on here, and tweak the overall layout to make it however you want it. And like I said it is actually really fun to do, so don't worry about asking to change any aspect of it.

Same thing goes for the far bottom banner. We can either make it smaller or ace it altogether. I have a program called collage maker where you can just throw all kinds of pics up and fit them together like a puzzle. So I went out and got the best pics I could find of all of the companies that we like. Last night I forgot to add optima and kinetik so I added those just now and also matched the banner to the width of the main module. Let me know if we should get rid of it, resize it, change/add companies or whatever.
Another thing I did last night was I made a jet black slate in Xara and added that as the main background. It seemed to make everything really pop in contrast to the gray module. Before it was all gray and it just kind of looked blah to me.
