HT subwoofers

Ok. Anyone have one? Anyone want one? Show us what you have/want. Here's mine. An 18" FI Q powered by a 1000w Dayton plate amp tuned to 28hz. I can't describe how this baby shakes the house enough. Probably overkill for most ppl. Show us what you bump to at home. emoticon

Re: HT subwoofers

My first was an experiment. I had fun.(4) 10" cheap ass Pyramid royal red woofers powered by a 500w Bash plate amp. Believe it or not it shook. No sq whatsoever but it worked. Taught me tons. Then I moved on to the Mag setup. Wow! What a difference. Deep and hard she hit. Then I moved on to my Q. And here we are. Now I'm gonna get my hands on an Eclipse and an Avalanche. It feels like Christmas! emoticon

How about a pair of DD 15's? That would make a cool bumper sticker. "I got DD's in my basement!" emoticon

You did a great job with that Q Paul, I like that box alot.
Yeah... I have built my share of home subs, probably 50 or so. It was my obsession for many years until I finally was able to buy a Servo Drive Basstech7, and that completely changed my way of looking at coil-based drivers. And then I almost mounted the BT7 in a Ford Econoline van until a couple test sessions determined that someone could be killed. I am still fascinated at finding a way to integrate the servo technology into a car.
My buddy took over my shop and is still making loaded HT and CA boxes today. I will post some pics of ones I made. Been in the studio for 72 straight hours this week, will post some when I get a chance to come up for air emoticon

Sounds good man. I actually have yet another project in the pipes. I have a 12" Eclipse heading my way for the living room. I have to find someplace local that can handle replacing the surround though. We'll see. emoticon
