Up top you'll see a control panel button. After that go to misc settings. On top you'll see a place to add the link to a pic. No bigger than 60 X 60. My stuff is hosted at photobucket. That's for your avatar.
To add pics to your posts use the insert image button and add url there. It takes a bit of getting used to.
