wiring moving around inside
Since my subs are 2ohm DVC, I have a wire jumping one pos. to the other negative and this wire moves around when the sub hits. I can hear it hitting something around inside and its annoying because I can almost hear that over everything else. How do I stop this from happening? Do I make the wire longer so it is too heavy to move around? or do I tie/tape it down?

Re: wiring moving around inside
Well, if it is the wire, I would just tape it to the inside of the box so there is no drag and it's not jumping around.

Re: wiring moving around inside
I am pretty sure Im not bottoming out because I can hear it rattling even at low volumes/or bass that doesnt cause much cone movement. But I guess this isnt that common of a problem, its just me

Re: wiring moving around inside
yeah I would just tape the wire up if thats what it is. never heard of that problem and I'm surprised that you would be able to hear that over the bass. You sure it isnt your coil scratching? Mine sounded like that right before it blew

Re: wiring moving around inside
Yeah, that is why I asked if you were bottoming out. Cause I've never heard anyone have that problem, where they could hear the wires inside hitting the box. As its been mentioned, some good ol' duct tape should do the trick, if that is the problem.

Re: wiring moving around inside
i agree. i don't think its the wire touching and its something else.
one way to find out is to take the sub out and rewire the sub. unless you take a cable and slap it against the wood hard yourself, you wouldn't be able to hear the cables hitting something inside your box.

Re: wiring moving around inside
Speaker wire is too dense and doesn't have enough surface area to be affected enough to cause this problem due to air movement. You can drape some 12 gauge over the front of a sub and it will barely move. And even if you used some **** wire like 16 or 18 gauge wire inside your box -- the mass goes down but so does the surface area.

Re: wiring moving around inside
well I had a similar problem when I had my Rl-Ps and I duct taped the wire down and didnt hear the tapping anymore. But I agree, I wouldnt think that you could hear the wire hitting, but it seems to have been the problem.
