Ideas for next meeting

This is as much for me as everyone else, but I also think other Unit Council reps should look over this and think about it. Maybe give me some feed back.

Here are the things I'd like to see hammered out at the next UC meeting:

-Discuss passing a rule that waivers are to be renewed at the season opener each year.

-Make a clear and definite rule on age requirements and proper procedures for underage fighters (aka under 16 vs under 18)

-Funding procedures and policies: how much goes to who and what to do with it, what to spend it on.

-Determine EXACTLY which duties go to the unit, and which to Eryndor for running events. What Eryndor will provide, and what the unit should handle themselves.

Just some things to wrap your minds around. Remember we need to set the date for our next UC meeting at the event this weekend.

Also I heard we are going to discuss rag a bit and the camping as well as cross roads and declare me the one ruler .... you know what I am not even in the mood to make an omnipotence joke,..,. what a sad day...

Here's another item that has bugged me for some time...

Will the Unit Council please address the enforcement of minimum garb standards for events as addressed in the MOA. Unless Eryndor has decided to deviate from these garb rules I still observe waaaayyy too many people at our events wearing blatantly mundane gear with no ramifications. I don't know about others but it "ruins my medevil experience!" emoticon

Let's try to keep the off topic and/or "funny comments" to a bare minimum level in this thread please.

Eindridi, good call. It's technically still our policy for minimum garb requirements to be met, but we have been very lacking on enforcement. I'll fix that this weekend.

Random suggestion / possible revenue stream for units:

Enforce min garb hardcore, but also bring basic minimum garb with you... offer to "rent" it to people for $2 (or whatever) for a day event so they can keep fighting (and not look like a scrub). Totally a brainstorm idea, not sure if that has legs underneath it.

Best way to make profit - tell eVERYONE they didn't meet min garb... then rent garb to everyone = profit!

I've been super busy this week so I haven't had time to make a final copy of Saturday's agenda. I do have Friday off, so I'll be doing it then. Also the rough draft I wrote up a few weeks back had most of the stuff mentioned on it, and when i do write up the final I'll be looking through this forum. Of course if anything is missing from the agenda we can always address that during the meeting (preferably at the beginning).

There are a lot of things that need to be addressed at this next meeting already tho' so a lot of the issues we could talk about but don't need to are totally being pushed to the back of the line. Things that come to mind that we need to talk about,are Crossroads committee (Bishop will be here for this), Ragnarök camping, Funding Policy, How a none board member can submit an idea to be review for the bylaws, How can a none board member take action against a board member, and much more... I don't have my draft in front of me so I don't have the list.

Now as I recall, at the last meeting we agreed that after the event we would be having a crossroads meeting with Bishop. I don't think we actually picked this as a true meeting. I've talked to a few others that were there that remember it the same way. One of the things we were supposed to do after the event is set a day for the next official meeting. Now, if we would like to make this official that's fine by me, but I think we need to make sure everyone is on board.

I like your suggestion 'Thron...it communicates to the people who are new and don't have garb "We want you to participate" while still being firm with the "vets" who should have garb by saying "You're not getting away with white Nike's and a Spongebob T shirt as garb, cough up some $$$ if you want to play..."

Haldour,

I might have been mistaken. I thought the crossroads committee was coming to the meeting/being officially created at the meeting and they would schedule another time to meet. which I summed up by saying Crossroads Committee in my previous post.
