Location
We have the Van Buren Park, Primitive camping location.
I have already recieved the confermation call and we are reserved for Aug 15-17th.
We can pay the group rate of 4/per after everybody arrives.
We are registered under "Dagorhir" for the weekend.

I'm assuming primitive camping location means the campsite where Hithdor camp was last year?

The 'primitive' location just designates that general area of the campground... I'm guessing they'll want you to camp down by 'old Hithdor' camp this year, BUT maybe you can still camp up in the old spot if you ask nicely... maybe they've changed their mind since we last used that location

I contacted Van Buren park today. They said that we have the entire area at our desposal. Pavillion back through the primitive area.
As for the bugs, he said it wasn't any worse then anywhere else... whatever that means.
He also gave "us" a great compliment. He said that they look forwards to us being there because we were always polite, clean and the only thing they ever got was some wierd looks!
Lets keep up the good reputation guys!

Rowan,
Can you remember the exact name of the "the guy" who told you that? That's awesome news, and sounds to me like we CAN camp up by the pavilion, meaning the mundane camp can be up and out of the way of the normal fighting if you guys wish it to be (I think that was a good idea last year, at least).
However, last year there was some confusion with the park rangers about us camping 'up there', and for a second it looked like we were going to have to move ALL the tents down to where the Hithdor roleplay camp was.
If you can remember his name and take note of it, it could save us some headache when a different park ranger *might* give us crap about where we set up camp. By saying "we spoke directly to "so-and-so" and they said we had full reign of this area from pavillion to yadda-yadda," we'll have the necessary ammmo to clarify any confusion.
That's great news that they liked our presence at the campsite last year, we were maniacs all up and down their trails, but we were courteous and cleaned up. Let's keep the good name, Van Buren is a good, cheap park for us and it'd be great to have continued access to it!
