[Poll] Do "pathetic" evil babes turn you on?
Well, I'll detail what I mean by that.
They tend to be very beautiful women, who are often "airheads". Of course, they generally aren't the archvillainess, as they obviously lack a brain...
Here are some characteristics I can come up with:
-They look "sweet".
-They want to be evil.
-They try very hard to be evil.
-They usually end up being evil...
-They are VERY confident of their evilness, and act quite snobbishly towards the good guys...
But the downs?
-They make more mistakes than successes...
-They generally are quite clumsy in physical scenarios, though some are very agile.
-They cannot realize that they cannot win, because they are missing a calculative brain...
-They are generally handled quite easily once they lose their advantage, be it first strike, surprise effect or anything else (like losing her gun, or something)...
-They can be hated by both camps, as the bad guys think they are more of a burden than help, though some can also be very trusted by their colleagues.
-They can be off'ed by their own side, because of the point above.
-They can very well survive too - because the good guys don't think they deserve to die.
All in all, you feel sorry for their stupidity.
Anyone into those? :P
I included a random picture I quickly created, just to illustrate my purpose. When you look at them you just know they wouldn't know how to fire the gun if you didn't tell them how. :P Some may argue that she'd make a great "calculative" villainess too - that's fine too.

Hmm. I love this kind of discussion! I like them,so I vote "yes". However,I do think they deserve the same fates as a more competent villain, though in practice they often get away with it. Just being inept etc doesn't mean they therefore have better intentions or morals does it?
I have been watching dvd box set episodes of a UK sixties fantasy-adventure-crime show called "Adam Adamant lives"(1966/7)which contains quite a few of these types,as well as the more capable variety. Sixties shows were full of "pathetic evils". My special dislike is the bad woman who finks on villainy and changes sides, often because they are attracted to the hero or the villainy is getting too "icky" for her sensibilities. Yukk! A lot of this goes on and it is a prevalent feature in comic books. The writers of these don't seem to be able to leave a villainess as a villainess. Catwoman is probably the best known example of this sort of thing. In the "Batman returns" movie, she is a troubled ambiguous character, not a proper fully fledged villain. At least the live action tv show kept her on the side of evil, unlike the cartoons. Poison Ivy has "noble" motivations and is turned into a villain, rather than badness being a freely chosen vocation in "Batman and Robin" and to some extent this is the picture in the comics and cartoons. Noble motivations were a curse with many of the villains in "The Black Scorpion". The lead villains were not in the main "pathetics" though. Shannon Whirry for example as Vox Populi, with no special powers,is more than a match for the Scorp. Bionically enhanced Aerobicide can defeat the Scorp too, though her gun toting hench women are two wonderful examples of sexy, greedy, dumb, inept and easily defeated bimbos.
The Batman tv show had a lot of "molls",assistant to the main villain, but providing little more than decoration a lot of the time, who fit the category well
Your bikini girl reminds me that the bikini girls totalled by Sondra Currie in "Policewomen" well meet "pathetic evil" criteria. Sexy, with murderous intent but utterly pathetic and clumsy. They only manage to get the goods on the hero 'cos one of them sneaks up behind him and knocks him down with an oar. And 4 of them armed with weapons get defeated by a single female opponent in a matter of seconds. Something a bit similar happens in Pam Grier's fight with a bunch of useless hookers in "Coffee"
A good example of the type. Stunning Sivi Aberg as evil beach bunny "Undine",chatting to her boss the Joker on a "hot dog" radio in the "Batman" episode "Surfs up,Joker's under"(1967). An enthusiastic giggling participant in the Joker's villainy, who nevertheless stands about like a clueless spare part in the final battle with the dynamic trio and is meekly nabbed by the entirely useless Chief O'Hara.

One of my biggest peeves is the thing where the villainess switches sides for some rediculous reason.
Catherine Zeta Jones was *wasted* in The Phantom. She was this Pussy-Galore-esque bandit with a cadre of female robbers, working for the villain, and she switched allegiances when-- I **** you not-- the good girl asked why she "was mean". I'm serious, that gave her pause and made her think.

Re: [Poll] Do "pathetic" evil babes turn you on?
And Pussy Galore and co change sides to that of virtue too in "Goldfinger".
I agree-it's horrible when that happens. I have burbled on about the "Batman" show recently. This happens a number of times there, when a "bad" girl helping the villain turns coat for Bats.

Re: [Poll] Do "pathetic" evil babes turn you on?
I must agree in the case of Sivi Aberg (Undine).
She looks gorgeus in this episode as henchbabe of the joker, but she isn't really a help for him. At the finally battle she doesn't do anything!!! OK she can't fight against Batman and Robin but she had many chances to attack Batgirl (a sexy catfight beetwen Undine and Batgirl must been incamparable). She is standing around stupidly in her heels until she is arrested by Chief O'Hara. In the original-episode with no comment from her - in the german one she is yelling about her fate...
Altogether I'd like pathetic villainess when they gets in the end what they deserve... the same punishment that the main villain!

Re: [Poll] Do "pathetic" evil babes turn you on?
I agree completely with the general dislike for the evil babe turning against her comrades. I have been 'de-aroused' countless times due to this frustrating plot twist.
I sit through a whole damn (usually stupid) movie in the hopes of getting a m/f or f/f fight scene and then ... nothing.
UNDERCOVER BROTHER was an enormous letdown.
It featured one of my favourite scenarios of a woman designed to be sexually irresistable and physically indestructible.
I admit that the fight between her and Sista Girl was mildly amusing, but I was hoping for a climactic death or KO scene.
NATIONAL LAMPOON'S LAST RESORT was another lost opportunity. The entire movie was an unmitigated disaster, but if they had have kept Demetra Hampton's character evil, it would have retained a little replay value. She was called 'The Annihilator' and instructed to seduce Cory Feldman. It had so many possibilities ...

Re: [Poll] Do "pathetic" evil babes turn you on?
Monica Bellucci in Dobermann and Cecile de France in High Tension are my favorite bad girls.
The writers always or almost always have the bad girl get it in the end. For once I'd love to see the villainess win.
Cecile's character did what some films do not do and that's place the bad girl as the chief protagonist. Most times the villainess is plays second fiddle to a bad guy or is just there in the script to be eye candy.
So was I turned on by either Monica or Cecile? Uh yeah, despite them being quite unbalanced and extremely violent.

Re: [Poll] Do "pathetic" evil babes turn you on?
A great poll, imperial, how did I miss that??
My answer, as you well know, is YES.
"Pathetic" badgirls turn me on because they are much more approachable in fantasy, it's easier to get to love them, and it's easier to feel supportive of them. The more a badgirl is 'lost' in the world, the more she's amiable (my heart goes out to losers).
That's the best start for my fantasy, which involves WANTING the badgirl to stop doing evil, to 'change'.
When it actually HAPPENS, it is interestingly enough an extreme turnoff. I guess that has to do with the principle that much about erotics is about craving, not about actually getting.
quote: Imperialdream wrote:

Probably the best part about them! They're not good at what they're doing and therefore are a complete nuisance to everyone involved.
Love it when they are either isolated by their incompetency or simply expendable: That's when my fantasy works best: imagining to save them...from themselves, the goodguys or the badguys.
Paradoxically, however, it works better the smaller the chance of that ever happening is.
Luckily for me, it's pretty easy to watch COMPETENT badgirls as if they were incompetent (under the assumption that they lose in the end, which they almost always do). It's rather easy to take a point of view in which they actually made a fatal error, from which they obviously should have refrained: being overconfident, underestimating her opponents, going against the odds, being in the wrong place at the wrong time, or simply teaming up with the wrong guys. In this view, they appear "pathetic" as well.
(The other way round: seeing competence in blatantly incompetent girls, seems harder indeed.)
The fact that incompetent badgirls usually don't present much of an obstacle or don't make for interesting fights isn't a problem for me: It's nice to see them take down some innocent people beforehand, though, using some advantage or other in a cowardly way (as imperial suggested).

Re: [Poll] Do "pathetic" evil babes turn you on?
My absolutly favourite kind of pathetic evil babes are:
- sexy and thrilling,
- arrogant and confident of victory,
- careless and snotty,
- seems good for nothing,
- beeing little dumb and having unfortunate...
It is the biggest crap when a evilbabe is turning good... very unspectacular
I think the evilbabe had deserved her comeuppance, because she is a bad girl and acting evil... mostly not effective... but although the babe had pay for her doings!!!

Re: [Poll] Do "pathetic" evil babes turn you on?
I voted no. I like my villains/villainesses, heroes/heroines to be competent not incompetent. Even if they come out being a little comical. For example: my best example would be Lady Sylvia Marsh (Amanda Donohoe) seducing a virginal boy scout named Kevin (Chris Pitt) in Ken Russell's "Lair of the White Worm." Quite comical in her seduction of him, but highly competent at what she does.

Would Tina Cote's 'Barbie' character from 'Mean Guns' count? If she does, then definitely they do!

That's a good example, Kevin. The boy's situation may be funny, but she is a REAL menace! (Her strap-on dildo later is another indication that she isn't playing around!)
