Real life f/m strangulations
Rumors abound that Nazi prisoner Rudulf Hess was garrotted by a female British agent posing as a nurse. This woman could get alone with him and not be noticed with the nurse clothes. She wrapped a ligature around the elderly man's neck and strangled him. He was too old and frail to cause a mess with a fierce struggle. They reported that he hung himself. Rumors are also that she was Jewish.

Interesting theories.
Hess's "suicide" has always sounded shady to me. He was so frail that throwing the rope over a rafter would have been nearly impossible, to say nothing of his tying it off and jumping off a chair or however he was supposed to hang himself.
For years he was the last prisoner left in Spandau prison, and they probably wanted him out of the way so they could demolish the place (which they did, starting the day after his death).
