Eternal (2004) -- Evil Seductress and her Assistant

Hello!

This is my first contribution emoticon

Here are a couple of scenes from the movie "Eternal", a Canadian horror-mystery-thriller based on the legend of Countess Bathory, who is said to have bathed in the blood of young women to preserve her youth, thus achieving immortality.

This is a modern take on said legend, with a sexy, lesbian touch, I might add, revolving around Elisabeth Kane, her assistant and a cop who is on their trail. There is not that much action in the movie, it focuses more on seduction, but the two girls definitely qualify as Evil Babes. Anyway ... let's cut to the first scene:

1) 'tis a long scene. Over 6 minutes long. A young woman arrives at Lady Kane's castle. She is greeted by the Lady herself, and, after some introductory talk, receives some special treatment from her.

Here we have Ms. Kane after her yummy meal ... telling her assistant to prepare her bath.

Eternal 1 - Intro, First Meal, (6:43, 47.1 MB)

2) The assistant can get quite hungry, too. So, in order to satisfy her appetite, she lures a student into her deadly trap. Her way of eating is a bit less civilised than that of her mistress, though.

3) Just a quick reminder of who's the boss in the castle.

4) Ms. Kane visits her lawyer (I think) to subtly remind him of what happens to people that betray her. (She leaves it at the threat, though)

5) ... I know, I'm evil, too, but here is just a teaser of one of the remaining (5) scenes:

Ok ... here's the rest:

5) (see screencaps above) Elizabeth kidnaps the cop's wife, ties her to a bed, then starts to make out with her a little and finally kills her. There's some nudity inside.

Eternal 5 - Elizabeth kills wife (2:29, 17.2 MB)

6) After all her efforts, Lady Kane takes a well deserved bath, Bathory style. You'll see her naked, but only from behind - still a nice sight to behold.

Eternal 6 - Blood Bath (0:54, 6.38 MB)

7) A nerdy girl gets a visit from Ms. Assistant. Finally she kills her with a jaw wrench.

Eternal 7 - Kill Girl (4:05, 28.8 MB)

8) Now, the grand finale. First, our heroic cop fights the assistant and kills her. Then he confronts Lady Kane, who is about to prepare her next bath, Venetian style. What follows is a brief finale involving a dog, a gun, a knife, some blood and a squad team to save the day.

9) The Epilogue. Lady Kane is imprisoned and gets a visit from the cop. They chat a little and the cop tries to figure out who she really is.

I think I should add that the clips #4, #6 and #9 only contain dialogue and no action whatsoever.

Also, while the first two clips and #7 have a little action inside, most of it is again build-up or dialogue ...

If you want to see Evil Babes kicking ass, you might want to skip this one.

There's a dead sexy costume in this, featured on the cover, that is used for literally less than a minute in the movie. What, I ask you, is up with that.

Rats. And this looked like it was going to be such a kewl (read HOT) movie.

A cousin of a Polish King Stefan Bathory living in her castle Czachtice ( today's Slovakia)

Her short "bio":

 A Hungarian countess who tortured and murdered more than 600 young women. Her sadistic acts—which included executing victims by having them stripped, led out into the snow and doused with water until they were frozen—caused her to be known as one of the true vampires in history.

That reputation was fueled by testimony at her 1611 trial that said that on occasion she bit the flesh of the girls while torturing them. It became legend that Bathory believed that she could retain her youthful beauty by bathing in the blood of her young victims.

Because of her high position in the society she could not be executed thus she was walled in a small chamber in her castle where she died 5 years later unrepentent.

There has been "babe bathing in blood" scenes in several movies. Two favorites I can think of right now are Roger Corman's THE HAUNTING OF MORELLA and also THE DEVIL'S WEDDING NIGHT (vampiress Rosalba Neri a.k.a. Sara Bay's rising nude from a steaming tub of blood is worth seeing the movie, which is not bad otherwise). emoticon

One more on her "Immoral Tales" with Paloma Picasso ( Daughter of the famous Painter);

A description: Vampires:
Paloma Picasso plays Countess Elizabeth Bathory and looks every inch the sadistic aristocrat - she could have been made for the role. She doesn't drink blood, she bathes in it. Unlike the legends it doesn't even need to be virgin's blood, as we observe one of her victims making love to her swain in a hayloft earlier. The theme of aristocracy Vs. Peasants comes across very strongly throughout - the palace scenes ooze decadence and the frenzied fighting of the naked girls over the seed pearls shows mob brutality.

Movie was made in late 70ties( before the onset of PC)took me a while to track it. It has 4 vignettes. The Bathory one is about 20 minutes long... plenty of nudity and soft lesbian sex. Gallons of blood ( during her baths for example) BUT you do not see the source... It just comes in via copper tubes. We guess from where. The "message" ( I guess) is about vanity of women (very much non PC) who are willing to kill each other and to be killed just to hold ( or possess) an expensive pearl. The final blood orgy commences when Elizabeth throws to her girls an expensive pearl necklace. They fight over it until blood runs etc...The movie ( and this vignette)is very alegorical...Paloma is excellent in it.

Who is Anna Friel and she had better be good if she could replace Famke Janssen in the title role!

Hope it's not too wimpy as the synopsis says, making the Countess a misunderstood woman and not a real villainess.

Only released in Slovakia (for now)little too far for me to goemoticon. What I have heard that it is a bit of an art film. The guy who directed it ( Jakubisko) is a respected director with many credits but he considers Bathory a Slovak national heroine ( even if she was a Hungarian evil woman)so I guess the portrayal will be "limp". As to the babe playing her?? Not much a bit of TV and few low budget movies. Here is her info:

Erszebth Bathory ( the real one of course) makes other villanesses (real or imaginery)look like naughty schoolgirls in comparrison. I "gooble up" all of the movies about her. Did not know of the news ones listed here. Will try to look for them.
