Freeze Vs Cardiff
Flintshire Freeze to take on Cardiff Dragons
Mar 20 2009 by Paul Wheelock, Flintshire Chronicle
FLINTSHIRE Freeze are to take on Cardiff Dragons in a battle to decide who is the best in Wales.
The Welsh rivals will go head-to-head in two matches at the end of this season and two matches at the start of next season.
Exact dates are yet to be confirmed as the Dragons, feeder team to Elite League giants Cardiff Devils, are involved in the ENIHL South One play-offs.
“Cardiff Devils phoned me up and asked if we wanted to take them on and get a Welsh cup going,” said Freeze head coach Mike Martin.
“It’s their Division One team so it’s going to be a really tough task, but we think we’re up for it.
“We’re waiting for dates because they’re waiting to play in the play-offs, but once that’s out of the way, we’ll organise two games at the end of this season and two games at the beginning of next.
“It’ll be a great way to finish and a great way to start. I’ve told the lads to go and enjoy themselves for a couple of weeks and then get themselves ready for Cardiff.”

Re: Freeze Vs Cardiff
Cardiff and Flintshire have been unable to gain suitable ice time that would suit both clubs, so at the moment the post season matches have been postponed. However both clubs are looking to take up the challenge games after the summer break. Dates will be posted nearer the time as and when they are available.
