Team Shirts on sale this weekend

There will be a limited number of New current Home and Away team shirts available to purchase at this weekends game, they are a once only offer and all are large sized.

They will be priced at £25 and once they have gone we will not be able to order any more, we are hoping through sponsorship deals to have a new kit sometime next year but the current shirt colours and logo’s will be used as a base for the new design so the old shirts will still be able to be worn by our supporters.

There may also be some other items of Team Merchandise available.

I am rather bemused by this. For the past 2 seasons I have been told new shirts were on the way. Also, when Gelicity announced their continued sponsorship, there was talk of money for this that and the other, but the merchandising just goes through the motions. Is it not size discrimination to only provide large sizes? I'm sure the manufacturers can do other sizes, and I'm sure fans wouldn't mind paying a bit extra for them.

Re: Team Shirts on sale this weekend

I do find it rather amusing to be accused of size discrimination but to explain why.

The current shirts where purchased from a manufacturer in Pakistan two years ago, the shirts that are for sale were originally purchased at the same time for an under 18 team, unfortunately that team did not get started and the shirts have been in storage ever since, some of them have been used to supplement the current squad shirts and replace damaged ones, others have been used for various presentations. The manufacturer has a minimum order of at least 20 shirts at a time in any given size and no less than a total of 60 shirts, unfortunately the club has never been in a financial position to buy 60 shirts for stock.

As for the sponsorship issues, we did receive some considerable contributions from Gelicity but for many reasons the figures mentioned at the start of the season did not materialise and the new kit was not financially viable last year, we have some plans in negotiation to finance a new kit but will only announce when the deal is done

We are constantly on the look out for sponsorship opportunities, all of the people who run the club have full time commitments elswhere and we rely on the help of unpaid volunteers working in their spare time, anybody who is willing to help in any way on match days or with sponsorship contacts, please let us know in person or via the website

Re: Team Shirts on sale this weekend

Thanks for the info. I have supported 4 other teams before I came to the Freeze, and 2 of those are on a par with Freeze. But I never had any problems getting jerseys from them, so hopefully you can appreciate why I am disappointed. Bottom line is children and non- large adults cannot don the livery of their beloved Freeze.
Have you thought of an increase in the price of admission? I have paid just £5 for the past 2 seasons, but would be willing to pay a bit more (unless the games are all like last nights...doh!). Also 50/50 instead of a tin of toffees? And dare I suggest finding different shirt suppliers?
I would love to be able to be one of your volunteers, but my personal circumstances prohibit that at the moment, and all I can do is make suggestions (I hope you dont mind)but I do appreciate the efforts of you all.
