Headscratching!
Hello all, I have recently been sent a couple of photos to publish on Follytowers, of a great looking tower in New Abbey, near Dumfries. I believe it is called the Waterloo tower, not to be confused with the Waterloo column in Roxburghshire. However looking through all the books I have on follies I own, I can not find any information about it. Are there any members in the fellowship that can shed some light on this? I cannot publish the page without any information and history about the tower!! All I can find about it from the web is that it was built in 1810 and comemmorates the British, Prussian and Belgian soldiers who under Wellington and Bulcher gained the victory at Waterloo. You can view a photograph of it by clicking the link below

Thanks in advance! Carl Curtis. Follytowers.com

Re: Headscratching!
A quick search through the Follies index reveals an article in issue 45. Not enough space to type it all here, so I'll send it in a separate email. Lots of useful stuff in those back issues. Most still available -do buy some now and clear some space in my garage
