Re: Map Updates 4

Much as I'm delighted to see someone making use of them, the images on Geograph are shared through a Creative Commons Licence, a condition of which is that:

You must attribute the work in the manner specified by the author or licensor (but not in any way that suggests that they endorse you or your use of the work).

As the photographer of the Thorpe St Andrew gazebo (and other follies that haven't yet appeared in these threads), I feel a little bit put out that the photographers aren't being credited here.

Apologies ghughesarch, you are right I should have put credits against each photo and I will now amend all the threads to recognise the photographers name.
Where I have used photos on the google map placemark thumbnails I have made them all clickable to open the original Geograph/flickr page which I feel gives the recognition to the photographer in an appropriate manor, if you feel this is not so I will amend all the thumbnails to show the photographers name.

Had a re-think and will now delete all photos from these threads as reading the geograph site hotlinking is frowned upon. Also I will replace all the google map thumbnails with the HTML links provided on each geograph page which will shows a small thumbnail with copyright info below. this is then clickable to open the geograph page
The flickr photos copyright states that as long as it is linked back to the original page then its ok with the photographer credited on the thumbnail.
I do not wish to bring any wrong doing to the Folly Fellowship website as copyright is a big issue these days
Paul

Have set up a photobucket account to store the full size images (with appropriate copyright notice in the descriptions). Photobucket allow hotlinking so can repost the full size images on here, and have started to put the thumbnails back on the map, this may take a long time as there are now over 600 follies on there.
