Re: Model Planes
what ??
helycopter !?
I have two Sir !
One is a small, electric engined by Kyosho
( won't say a word bout it cause it costed LOTS and when you do a "hard touch" with the ground...you will waste more than 100£ ...)
BUT !
The second one is a LOVELY MFA Sport 500, with the sweet BlueBird engine, 10cc fuel engine.
It's very well constructed, all metal apart the plastic canopy also wooden blade.
By my experience i can say that the Sport 500 by MFA ( hey, it's from United Kingdom hehe ) is very reliable, easy to build up and tuning .
I remember that years ago i had a nice phone call with MFA as i required some spare parts.
Paid like 30£ WITH shipping, and still i can crash down for like 10 times
Flying a Hely IS hard. Very !!
Difficult % from a airplane to a hely :
Airplane ( any kind ) 10%
Hely ( basic, not acrobatic ) 80% more than the airplane !
Just to know : when you move it forward you have to control the rotor plate also the tail, cause every movement on your radio control need a reversed movement.
Always stay at 5 meter back and 2 meter on his right and ONLy look his tail also rotor movement. And remember, each movement on a hely ( i mean by your radio control ) will be delayed.
Oh well. Even if you wanna buy, build and fly one, look for the MFA .
NEVER buy an "already build" hely. You MUST build it by yourself. This cause you MUST learn all part of it, it's fine regulations and so.
to build it up you only need a set of common tools and a special rotor blade measurement tool ( for the rotor blade degree )
I?m so sorry cause my english sucks...but if you need a hand, tips&tricks...ill be happy to help !

Re: Model Planes
He's GREAT !
Just one thing : he's also very....crazy.
flying an hely so very close is dangerous, very.
I remember when i was watching a hely pilot and his friend that act as mecanic man...the hely was in hovering at bout 2 meter from the ground and the mecanic man was under it tuning the carburator valve....SO CRAZY !
Sad to remember, like 3 years or more ago, "we" had a dead man, cause the hely rotor blade cut his head.
So ALWAYS safe, with NO peoples also animals closed by.
