I've voted for the Magnum, the PL is a little bit long in the tooth now and the Magnum is a great radio. I've had PL and it was a good rig but with some bits I didnt like as well. You can get 40w from a PL, I'm not sure about the 257 tbh.
Magnum 257 hands down

i like the audio of the lincoln and think its a really good sounding radio. saying that my friend has a 257 and it does sound ok, not as strong as lincoln. buttons and stuff feel plastic and not very good on the 257 and my friends front 6 push buttons are loosening, one has been glued on. i know its old but i would go lincoln i think
