How do you make yor call???

now most of the locals know i like to make a noise ??
was giving a call out the other day;
hello 11 hello 11 meters hers is 26 FOX BAKER 139 calling and listening on 27.530 thanx.
went to freq & a local station piped up your are FOXTROT BRAVO not FOX BAKER?????
a 35sd160 was trying to call back to me ,when the local station then kept calling for 160 div ,i chuckled to myself to him "i can be who i what & clean his ears out" ??
then qsyed.
so whats your station call.

At the risk of sounding pedandic, it is recommended (in amateur radio...) that you adhere to the international phonetic alphabet, and this is presumably what the offending station was referring to.

I tend to abbreviate the 'foxtrot' bit to just 'fox' so I'm not so perfect either. emoticon

I nearly always say Fox Bravo as well, a lot of stations use countries or US states, Florida Bravo seems to be a favourite for stations returning my call as well emoticon

when i got back in to radio last year,i heard keith calling fox baker and thought it a bit cooler.since then i mix it up all the time with florida baker/bravo rolling of the tongue the easiest but use foxtrot bravo when making contact to promote the club.

it doesnt really matter as long as they dont sound similar but with foreign people you should just stick to the phoinic alphabet
