Out on Sunday 6th April - 11 metres.
Just that really.
I'm going up on a hill near Dartmoor on Sunday for a few hours with my TS-430 and a 1/4 wave vertical on the car.
Particularly interested in long distance ground wave contacts. I'll be wherever I hear action, but failing that I'll be on 27.555 USB.

Oh well - I went up there but precious few on the band.
John - did the 3-500s get the 'getting' they may have needed? No good them going all soft on you - was 2KW enough?

The tubes were getting it when the the antenna coils got a bit too hot but yes got to 14LY011 5/2, n Yorkshire 5/4, ironbridge on a 5/5, and kent on a oner but that didnt last due to a CW broadcaster some where in S wales on the trip nip! A bit of skip would have been nice though j193

I could just about hear the CW from my location - a real pain if local I'm sure.
Discovered that I had an SWR problem on my little mobile vertical - did a check (rather stupidly last thing before I went home) and it was running at about 2:1, too high for comfort.
Checked the magmount when I got home and found it read 14 ohms resistance between the outer and the metal base of the magmount, presumably due to corrosion internally - it has been on the car for nearly 4 years!
Maybe once sorted I'll do better - hoping to be in the same spot next Sunday.
