Re: How much above sea level is your home QTH?? If you go to Google earth & run your cursor over the surrounding area you not only get your height, but also the surrounding areas height as well.
Re: How much above sea level is your home QTH?? My home has a land rise of over 20 meters in a EVERY single direction & every single rise has buildings on it.
Still at least we are not providing emergency cover. One local council office is built on the side of a valley & communication from it's nucular bunker in one direction would thus require a tower of several hundred feet, just to communicate over the top of the ridge half a mile away.
I say would require, because they don't have a tower & thus cannot communicate in that direction

Height above sea level will only effect groundwave range, not DX ability.
DX on CB will be via sky wave & thus either via F2 propagation which will mainly, but not exclusivly be as a result of sunspot activity or via Sporadic-E propagation.
The height of you antenna & the height of the other antenna will only effect the distance you can talk ground wave.
