Re: hi
in the summertime you get short skip (sporadic E) which will give you Europe usually, sometimes North Africa during the daytime. If your lucky you can hear SA and USA in the evening, from about 9pm onwards it seems to be.
Wintertime things start to change, from about September onwards. In the mornings you can get the middle east, Greece, Turkey and Kuwait will be quite common, but operators are rare in that part of the world, probably to do with the fact you would get stoned to death or your hands chopped off if you get caught illegaly using a radio in some of those countries, lol. Earliest I've heard USA in winter is about 11AM, but it usually starts to get busyer from USA about 1PM ish, and they can stay in right up until 2 or 3 in the morning sometimes.
All of this is just my observations from the last 10+ years of using 11M, but the great thing about radio is anything can happen at any time and anything is possible. I'm hoping for some USA this winter as our summer skip this year has been a lot better than the last few years, but from talking to people in the States online, its still really quiet over there, so all we can do is cross our fingers and hope for the best

Re: hi
If only we knew we wouldnt have to spend all those hours listening to zzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Mind you, would spoil the fun! Its a bit like fishing, you never know just when that big one is going to come along, if ever.
All the best listening out for them but most of all have fun while you do.
