Daft Question Could someone tell me what the 'Super Bowl' operators are, on 11m?, I have heard this being referred to a number of times but not exactly sure what "The Superbowl stations" is referring too.

Re: Daft Question The Superbowl is on 27025 AM, its an american CB craze, where the operators use mega, and I mean mega, antennas and power. When theres even the faintest of propagation you can hear them, although you've no chance at all of working any of them.
They have CB handles and a weird way of talking, and the only point of it all is to be the strongest station on the frequency. They use 20-30kw linears and stacked eight element quads, all for use on one frequency

Re: Daft Question They are a pain really as they add dramatically to the background noise, the're only plus is they can be used to hunt for propagation but if its up they cause loads of white noise.
Sort of Donkey stations of CB I suppose.
