Signed... emoticon , I get it most days now for long periods. Is there any remote possibility of having it addressed as a result of giving postal details? How can it be improved emoticon

ring ofcom and complain, i did about plt i get here. they told me to complain again when i had a permenant antenna up as i was using a indoor one. They will send people out to source the plt and then visit the owner of it and suggest they change it for one that does not interfere

yes remove anything illegal and hide it out the way. BT do supply a none interferin PLT adaptor, ofcom will suggest to the owner that they can get this item free of charge from BT.

Good god cor blimey!
Yes! Remove any illegal radios, as Mr Ofcom will be poking around and will probably want to hear the interference on one of your radios.

Quite apart from getting the interference removed, any complaint is yet another statistic for Ofcom and another thorn in the side of bleddy BT - that's good.

I'm hoping (as are many others) that this crap will eventually be outlawed and removed from sale, but we desperately need more people to complain.

I have listened to plt interference on youtube and the noise shown on the ukqrm uploads amongst others sounds different from mine. On the youtube examples the user switches to AM and there is a pulse type sound, high pitched. On mine when i switch to AM the poundage drops and i dont get a pulse type sound but the poundage remains the same on all bands. If i leave it on usb/lsb and switch around the bands the poundage doesnt shift from signal 7 and the noise is just like qrm......is this PLT interference or is it something else? Its constant across the whole S9 spectrum 25-29mhz

That's odd.
Normal PLT interference, being wide band in nature, is much more obvious when listened to using AM with a good 6KHz bandwidth or more.

You need to eliminate your equipment as the cause, as if Ofcom find the problem to be yours, you'll have a fee to pay.

Can you operate your radio off a 12 volt battery? This will eliminate the power supply as the source.

If that's OK, then switch off the mains at the meter to see if that cures it. If not, the source is outside your property and a job for Ofcom.

Does this interference affect legal FM CB? If so, yo still have a cause for complaint - don't think that because it's CB you don't have a right to interference-free reception. All legitimate shortwave users have this right.

I will try to borrow a car battery first off, however on ukfm i get a signal 5.5 on all channels at all times of the day and night . It doesnt shift from that poundage. Never used to be like that, there were occassions when you could turn on 19 for instance at 4am and there would be virtually nothing there now i have this 5.5/6 db signal.
