were are all the A.M s ? as most of you know flea-bay is full of AM cb radios, most are sold for stupid money, my thoughts are if people are paying good money for AM CBs, then why is it i never hear anyone on the AM fcc band. do these people pay upwards of £20 on 40 channel AM CBs just to put in the attic....maybe....maybe not.
any thoughts......any answers...is there a regular AM net on the mid band ?
Re: were are all the A.M s ? Maybe they are being bought by Irish truckers? AM cb is still very big over here amongst lorry drivers, practically every "BIG RIG" has one installed. CH19 AM is very busy over here and indeed around the UK ferry ports you can hear lots of Irish drivers chatting to one another.
Re: were are all the A.M s ? That's true, Ch19 27.185MHz AM is seldom quiet over here, I have seen a lot of old mid block AM 1980s CB Radios for sale on eBay that have been converted to FM, some of them very tidy too. I'm actually listening to 19 on AM at the moment, mind you there is more swearing than anything else!!
I've started to listen often around the mid block on AM to see if Ch6 27.025MHz has any propagation active to hear the USA 'Superbowl' stations coming through.
