That date would be good for me to, could do with a trial run first maybe? On freq ? at ?o`clock, sat/sun?
That way if I dont hear anything, I can go up higher and try from there!

I would most certainly be up for this, but I'm still refining the gear so not fully operative.

I still need to procure some nice fikk cables to run from the car battery, and to eliminate an annoying RF feedback issue with the microphone. The solution is to earth the metal case of the mic to the audio screen, rather than leave it floating as it is now - just need to get around to it.

Maybe later in the month?

I won't be about today (again) but I'll make it one day...

Paddy - the RF choke idea sounds good for helping with feedback, but in my case I've already fitted RF chokes and bypass ceramics on the mic socket pins inside the rig. I think the feedback is being generated actually within the circuitry within the microphone head. (a disembowelled Ham Master 4200.)

I did do some tests when out and by touching the metal of the mic case to the metal of the rig whilst keying, discovered that the feedback ceased. There may still be some disturbance to the audio though, but this is something only a full-power audio check will reveal.
