Have owned the RCI 2970dx from new for about 6 months and have had lots of good reports on signal and audio, I use the Astatic teardrop mic. Have been very pleased with this radio although the needle seems very lazy, could be just mine, dont know.

had a few of these in the mobile worked ok ,but seemed a little deaf.could do with a little more filtering if you live in a built up area.got a bit to hot at the back if used alot,audio reports were good but i changed the mic as per usual to my adonis.

i had the older 2950 years ago and since i have tried the 2950dx and the 2970dx both are good radios but can suffer break through nd other image problems on times , really excellent in the car mountain topping.
